PPDS has shown a 32:9 LED screen for Front Row or group collaboration at ISE.
The 1.5mm pixel pitch screen with FHD resolution comprised 2 x 137″ displays from the Philips 6000 Series.
The display was shown amid a plethora of launches of 21:9 screens around the show, with Microsoft having previously examined both 21:9 and 32:9 options for its Front Row screen layout.
Speaking at the show, Martijn Vanderwoude, VP of global marketing and business development at PPDS, said: “We’re in contact with Microsoft and they have encouraged us to do both 21:9 and 32:9. One of our customers liked this 32:9 screen so much that he asked us if he could buy it and take it away with him at the end of the show.”
Vanderwoude said the FHD display was an affordable, rather than an out-of-reach high-end solution.
Speaking after the show, he added: “The 6000 Series is competitively priced for meeting rooms and offers premium features like 3840Hz refresh rate, dynamic power saving, and optimised black levels. Due to its nature as a modular dvLED wall, we can deliver this solution in seamless 16:9, 21:9 or 32:9 ratios.”
Vanderwoude added that PPDS had also entered into a partnership with Cyviz, which provides access to Front Row in larger and more complex meeting rooms.
The 32:9 screen appeared as PPDS launched its Tableaux e-paper displays, which are capable of displaying 60,000 colours, with zero power usage until the next content refresh. The displays are available in 25” 16:9, and 28” 32:9 stretched variants initially, and larger sizes will be made available after this spring’s launch.
The company also launched PPDS Wave, a cloud-based management ecosystem for professional display fleets.
